There are three mediums that people can exist in:
- Deliberately positive
- Deliberately negative
- Automatic (learned from parents / peers / media) (usually negative)
Most people usually stay in the automatic zone – repeating the nonsense that they hear from the news or their parents.
One can become deliberately positive. However, it is difficult, because people often go back to what they are familiar with. In my own experience, I get fatigued if I remain positive for too long. However, if I remained positive – I could probably handle the fatigue.
The best book on being deliberately positive would be The Seven Day Mental Diet, a short book which can easily be found online through the public domain.
[Recommended reading: The Seven Day Mental Diet by Emmet Fox]
“But the seven days are going to be strenuous’. I would not have you enter upon this without counting the cost. Mere physical fasting would be child’s play in comparison, even if you have a very good appetite. The most exhausting form of army gymnastics, combined with thirty-mile route marches, would be mild in comparison with this undertaking.” – Emmet Fox
A ebook can easily be found online as the book is in public domain.
